A 59-year-old man crossing a street with a walker was hit by a car and killed this morning, according to Metro Police.
The driver, Luis Gonzalez, 30, of Las Vegas, was later arrested on counts of DUI and failing to stop at the scene of an accident, police said.
The pedestrian was hit while crossing Las Vegas Boulevard North at Lamb Boulevard in a marked crosswalk, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Officers located the car a short time later and contacted the driver, who did not stop at the scene of the incident, police said.
The crash remained under investigation, police said.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify the pedestrian after his family has been notified, police said.
