To commemorate the opening of the Little Vegas Chapel’s expanded new ceremony venue during Pride Month, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officiated her first-ever celebrity LGBTQ ceremony, a commitment ceremony between legendary headliner Frank Marino and longtime partner Alex Schechter, an executive at SPI Entertainment and veteran producer. It doesn’t get much more Vegas than that, folks. Marino continues to portray Joan Rivers at “Legends in Concert” at the Tropicana and may soon announce more show dates for “Frank Marino’s Red Carpet Brunch” at Westgate. And Schechter’s recent work can be seen at the Strat Theater, where SPI collaborates with other producers and the resort to bring several exciting productions to life.

Pauly Shore is always popping up at different comedy clubs and hot spots around town these days, but his time at the Golden Tiki in Chinatown last week was special. He performed with his raucous rock and roll band The Crustys and was set to add his own likeness to the bar’s collection of shrunken heads, but owner Branden Powers surprised the entertainer with two more heads honoring his famous parents, the late Mitzi and Sammy Shore, who co-founded and operated the legendary Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

Can we claim Brad Paisley as a resident headliner? The country singer’s Acoustic Storyteller engagement returns to Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas for two fall performances on November 4-5, with tickets on sale this Friday, June 24, after sold out shows in March and in 2021. The intimate, interactive style of these concerts is a perfect fit for both entertainer and venue, and it would make a lot of sense for Paisley to keep coming back for more.

In other entertainment announcements this week: Comedian Mark Curry (“Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper”) will perform at the Treasure Island Theatre on July 22; California rap legends Cypress Hill has been added to Resort World’s Summer Nights Concert Series and will take the stage at Ayu Dayclub in the evening of August 5; The Lost 80s Live tour stop originally set for the Amp at Craig Ranch Park in North Las Vega will now take place August 26 at the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, featuring retro acts A Flock of Seagulls, Wang Chung, Missing Persons, Naked Eyes, The English Beat and more; Social media comedy phenomenon Trevor Wallace will make his Aces of Comedy debut at the Mirage Theatre on August 27; Christian Nodal’s Forajido Tour stops at MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 18; Mary J. Blige, recent recipient of the Billboard Icon Award right here in Las Vegas, is scheduled for a tour stop at Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay on October 8; Sebastian Maniscalco is also in the books for more shows at Encore Theater, as the comedian returns for two performances each night on October 8-9; Mexican vocalist Lupita D’Alessio will take the stage at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms on October 15; Nightmare on Q Street, a Halloween-time hip-hop concert that will star The Game, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Too Short, Digital Underground and others, returns to the Orleans Arena on October 15; Pop artist Conan Gray will play Brooklyn Bowl at the Linq Promenade on October 25; Baltimore band Turnstile will bring its fall Love Connection Tour, also featuring Snail Mail, to Brooklyn Bowl on November 8; and Billy Idol is back at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan for a new five-show run from November 11 through the 19th.

You might want to make plans for next Wednesday, June 29, to head to S Bar at Mandalay Bay. There you can catch the one and only Skye Dee Miles hosting the new Entertainers Lounge from 9 p.m. until midnight, where the incomparable singer will be shining the spotlight on some of her favorite local entertainers and artists. We’re betting this will be one to watch.

The Industrial Event Space at 2330 S. Industrial Road is also launching something new — a residency series called Soul Full Sundays starting on July 17. Singers Elisa Fiorillo and D Train will be performing classics from the likes of Marvin Gaye, Roberta Flack, Steve Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Prince and more, with each 7 p.m. Sunday night show benefitting a different local nonprofit organization. The first edition will provide support for Opportunity Village, and four dates are already on the books through August. For more info, visit theindustrialvegas.com.
