The annual spring training baseball games in Las Vegas won’t be played as scheduled next week as Major League Baseball continues to be sidelined by the ongoing labor dispute.

The Cleveland Guardians and Oakland Athletics were supposed to play March 12 and 13 at Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin as part of the Aviators’ Big League Weekend.

“We hate to see the news that these Major League Baseball spring training games are canceled at Las Vegas Ballpark,” Aviators COO Don Logan said in a statement.

Officials says ticket refunds will be issued to the credit card used to purchase tickets. Season ticket holders who purchased tickets will be contacted by the ticket office.

But baseball will be played April 5 when the Aviators open the Triple-A season by hosting the Reno Aces. The work stoppage only impacts players on the big league 40-man roster, meaning minor leaguers will play a full 150-game slate.
