In the second day of candidate filings, a swarm of Republicans have officially joined the crowded governor primary.

Former U.S. Sen. Dean Heller, North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee, real estate investor Barak Zilberberg, Air Force veteran Tom Heck and safety training business owner Gary “Radar” Evertsen filed for governor Tuesday, joining Eddie Hamilton and Stan Lusak on the ballot.

Hamilton is a part-time hip hop DJ, investor and manufacturing engineer, and he is an elected member of the Nevada Republican party central committee. Lusak is a perennial candidate who previously ran for governor of Nevada on multiple occasions.

That brings the total number of Republican gubernatorial candidates hoping to oust Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak, who filed for reelection Monday, to seven. Entrepreneur Guy Nohra plans to file Wednesday afternoon in Carson City at the end of his “Battle Born Tour,” according to a statement from his campaign.

The expected candidates who are left include Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, Las Vegas City Councilwoman Michele Fiore, boxer and lawyer Joey Gilbert and trauma surgeon Dr. Fred Simon. They have until March 18 to file.
