Las Vegas police investigating possible murder-suicide in downtown

Metro Police is investigating an apparent murder-suicide at an apartment in downtown Las Vegas, homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said.

Police were called to the area of 9th Street and Fremont Street at about 2:30 p.m. today to a report of two dead bodies at the complex, Spencer said at a briefing. Medical personnel was called to the scene where they were both pronounced dead, and Spencer noted the bodies were likely deceased for at least two days.

A preliminary investigation found the man and woman lived together at the apartment and were last seen together on Tuesday. A neighbor told police they heard what appeared to be a domestic dispute that same day, Spencer said.

That same neighbor today received a phone call from one of the decedents’ employers stating they had not been to work since earlier this week, and made entry to the apartment where the bodies were found, Spencer said.

Police did not identify neither the man nor woman, other than the man is white and in his early 40s, and that the woman is white and in her early 50s. No other information was released.
