Several people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in May in which some 150 rounds were fired at a private party at a Las Vegas swimming pool, Metro Police said.

Between 150 and 200 people were at the city’s Pavilion Center Pool about 9 p.m. on May 30 when multiple arguments started inside and outside the pool facility, police said.

Two people suffered minor shrapnel injuries when a number of people pulled guns and started shooting, police said. Eleven guns were confiscated during the course of the investigation, police said.

Police today announced three men have been arrested, while two other suspects remain at large.

Demarea Wesley and Terrance Jefferson face counts of discharging a firearm in an occupied structure, according to Clark County District Courts records.

Trayvon Ward faces counts of aiming a firearm at a person or discharging a weapon where a person might be endangered, court records show.

All three suspects were arraigned Feb. 9, according to court records.

Police are seeking two other men on outstanding warrants connected to the shooting, Metro Capt. Fred Haas said without providing additional details.

“This is unacceptable by any standard,” Haas said. “We will go to the ends of the earth and be relentless in this investigation to make sure that this doesn’t occur again.”

The large number of shell casings left at the scene took months to process and were key evidence leading to the arrests, Haas said.

Haas said multiple gangs appear linked to the case but stopped short of calling the shootings gang-related.

The Pavilion Center Pool, 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive, is near Palo Verde High School, a community center, a church and homes. The high school and the community center were struck by stray rounds, Haas said.

Las Vegas Councilwoman Victoria Seaman, who represents the area, said she has worked with the city to “change the policies in how we rent our pool facilities and how we rent out other facilities.”
