A’ja Wilson’s strong performance last week for the Las Vegas Aces earned her Western Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced today.
Wilson averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds for games May 23 through Sunday to grab her franchise-best eighth player of the week award.
Her week started May 23 with 24 points in 19 minutes in a 104-76 win against Los Angeles. The 2020 league MVP then tallied 22 points and a career-best 16 rebounds Saturday at Chicago to help the Aces finish 2-0 on the week. They improved to 8-1 overall — 2.5 games ahead of second-place Seattle.
The Aces at 6 p.m. tonight host Connecticut at Michelob ULTRA Arena on the Strip.
