Mr. Piffles

Mr. Piffles celebrates his birthday with castmate Jade Simone.

The same week the Bronx Wanderers wrapped up their residency show at Westgate Las Vegas, the group has announced its new home: the South Point Showroom. Tickets are on sale now (at Ticketmaster) for the new Wanderers monthly residency at the south-of-the-Strip resort, opening February 28 and running on select dates in March, April, May and June. With the Righteous Brothers and Human Nature rotating through the same showroom, the South Point’s entertainment lineup is looking mighty strong heading into 2023. And speaking of the new year, the Wanderers will ring it in with a previously announced special concert in the South Point Grand Ballroom on December 31. Tribute artist Bohemian Queen takes over the showroom that night.

There was an incredible number of concerts and Vegas entertainment announcements in the past week, so here’s everything we found out about: yacht rock outfit Yachtley Crew has inked a residency with the Palms that will see the group play the Kaos Nightclub space on November 18 and 19, December 29 and 30, and February 24 and 25; Taiwanese singer Aska Yang performs at Resorts World Theatre on December 24; former Zappos Theater resident headliner Gwen Stefani joins the New Year’s Eve festivities with weekend performances at Venetian Theatre on December 30 and 31; Lionel Richie has extended his residency at Wynn’s Encore Theater with new concert dates on January 14, 15 and 18; alt-rockers Collective Soul will play the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms on January 14; Boy George & Culture Club return to Encore Theater for a three-night engagement on February 15, 18 and 19; Widespread Panic is back in Las Vegas for a weekend run at the Theater at Virgin on March 3-5; comedian Iliza Shlesinger makes her debut at Encore Theater with performances on March 10 and 11; Bonnie Raitt brings her Just Like That tour to the Venetian Theatre on March 15, 17 and 18; comedian Tom Segura is primed for two shows at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan on March 17 and 18; Tony-winning musical “Six,” which recently completed a successful touring run at the Smith Center, will hit the Strip for a seven-week engagement at the Palazzo Theatre beginning on March 21; George Thorogood & The Destroyers will land at the Pearl during their 50th anniversary tour on March 25; the Backseat Lovers hit the stage at Brooklyn Bowl on April 28; Louis Tomlinson visits the Chelsea on July 1; beloved Latin rock act Maná will take over T-Mobile Arena on September 17; and pop superstar Pink brings her Summer Carnival tour to Allegiant Stadium on October 7.

The Sit-In with Kelly Clinton,” a popular staple at the former Nevada Room showplace at Commercial Center, is coming back to life starting this week at the Copa Room at the Tuscany Suites. Clinton will bring all the music, comedy, variety acts and guest headliners on Sunday nights at 7:30 p.m. from November 20 through February 12.

Peter Antoniou, psychic and comedian and season 16 semifinalist on “America’s Got Talent,” will perform as guest host at “America’s Got Talent Las Vegas Live” at the Luxor Theater through November 27. This is your chance to see the performer Simon Cowell described as a “wizard.”

Piff the Magic Dragon and his cast and crew threw a 15th birthday party for Mr. Piffles, the Chihuahua who co-stars in the show at the Flamingo Showroom (although he’s been known to steal his fair share of scenes) on November 14. Headlining neighbor Donny Osmond stopped by to sing “Puppy Love” during the show that night, and audience members and fans took advantage of photo ops with Mr. Piffles, a rescue dog, to raise funds for the Nevada SPCA. The birthday coincides with the seventh anniversary of Piff’s show at the Flamingo: “I now hold the record for longest run of any magic-performing dragon with a conjuring Chihuahua in Las Vegas.” Can’t argue with that.

You can’t just save the date—it’s time to get your tickets to the Mondays Dark 9th anniversary celebration on December 12 at 8 p.m. at the Pearl at the Palms, because they’re going fast. The fundraising show rounding up a rotating cast of local entertainers happens twice monthly at The Space, and its annual December production is the occasion for announcing the Las Vegas nonprofits that will benefit from its efforts in 2023 and to celebrate another year of musical fun. Performers are expected to be unveiled soon and tickets and tables are available at mondaysdark.com.
