The attendance total for this year’s annual Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas nearly matched the convention’s 2019 pre-pandemic figure, according to show organizers.

The popular gaming industry show, commonly referred to as G2E, attracted nearly 25,000 to Las Vegas this week, about 2,000 short of what the 2019 show pulled in.

“After leading the return of trade shows to Las Vegas last year, G2E 2022’s pre-pandemic atmosphere is a milestone for our industry and a testament to our collective excitement around gaming’s future,” said Bill Miller, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association, the organization that puts the event on.

Last year, the show drew just 13,000 attendees as trade shows — and many of commerce in general — slowly started to return to pre-pandemic levels.

In its 22nd edition this year, the show, which featured over 350 exhibitors, takes place annually at the Venetian Expo.

The 2023 show will take place at the same location from Oct. 9 through Oct. 12.
