Man, 54, dead in three-car crash in Henderson

A 54-year-old man died Wednesday after he was ejected from his vehicle as part of a three-car crash, Henderson Police said.

Police and fire units were dispatched about 8:20 p.m. to the intersection of Valle Verde Drive and Clearwater Canyon Drive, near Paseo Verde Parkway, the department said in a news release.

An initial investigation revealed a silver Honda vehicle was heading north on Valle Verde in the left-most lane alongside a Ford pickup truck, police said.

Ultimately, the two crashed in the Ford’s lane, and the collision caused the Ford to drive into the southbound lanes on Valle Verde, causing a second crash with a gray Hyundai SUV, according to the release.

The driver of the Ford was partially ejected from the truck and died from his injuries, police said. His identity will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after family has been notified.

Speed and reckless driving were considered factors in the crash, but impairment was not, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
