The Bishop Gorman football team exploded for 587 yards of offense Friday night in an impressive 54-14 victory at St. Louis of Hawaii.

Traveling to the islands wasn’t an obstacle for the Gaels, whose quarterback Micah Alejado completed 18 of 22 passes for 296 yards and five touchdowns. Melvin Spicer IV also had a touchdown pass.

Trech Kekahuna was the leading receiver with six catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns, and Zachariah Branch, Elija Lofton, Micah Kaapana and Devin Rice also had receiving touchdowns.

Sophomore Myles Norman led the rushing attack with 150 yards and two touchdowns in averaging 21 yards per carry.

The Gorman defense also had a strong night in recording three interceptions and holding St. Louis to less than 200 yards. Kodi Decambra had a team-best four tackles.

Gorman (2-1) showed no signs of hangover after losing a close game last week to Mater Dei of California. The Gaels are back in action Friday against visiting Hamilton of Arizona in the Polynesian Football Classic.
