Shadow Ridge quarterback Coen Coloma rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns tonight in a 42-6 victory against host Palo Verde in a historic win for the Mustangs.

It was the first time Shadow Ridge has beaten Palo Verde in 18 years, coach Travis Foster said.

“It was nice to beat them at their place and leave no doubt,” Foster said. “Our kids were excited; our former players were excited.”

Davison Glenn had three carries for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and Jon Wilson had 72 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Caleb Fisher added a 61-yard touchdown reception.

Foster can recite the close defeats against Palo Verde over the years. And, of course, he remembers the lopsided defeats. Needless to say, tonight was a special night.

“We've played in a lot of Palo Verde homecoming games over the years,” Foster joked.
