Biker killed after collision with box truck in Spring Valley

A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning after a collision with a box truck in Spring Valley, according to a Metro Police news release.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m., a Yamaha MT-09 was traveling west on Flamingo Road west of Decatur Boulevard. A 2020 Isuzu NQR Box Truck was turning left from an undedicated turn lane from eastbound Flamingo Road to a private driveway on the north side of the street. The box truck’s driver failed to yield the right of way and collided with the motorcycle, according to reports.

The Isuzu’s driver remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment, police stated.

The biker was transported to UMC Trauma by ambulance, where the 29-year-old of Las Vegas was pronounced dead, the release stated.
