The much-anticipated Formula One motor sports race on the Strip will take place the Saturday before Thanksgiving next year.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix, which will partially take place on a race course that includes stretches of the Strip, will be held on Nov. 18, 2023.

The race is scheduled to start at 10 p.m..

It’s expected as many as 170,000 visitors could descend on Las Vegas for the race.

Several days of events leading up to the race will also take place, including an opening ceremony the Wednesday before the race.

A practice day for the drivers will take place the following day, and qualifying for the race will be the Friday before the main event.

Plans are for a 3.8-mile track along a stretch Las Vegas Boulevard and some adjacent streets. The track will start near Top Golf and the MGM Grand  before heading north on Koval Lane.

It will then wind around the under-construction MSG Sphere before it connects with Sands Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, then south until turning to the east on Harmon Avenue.

The race is planned for 50 laps.

Experts believe the race could have a $500 million economic impact on Southern Nevada.
