Gunner Cortez rushed and passed for a touchdown tonight for the Virgin Valley football team in a 21-0 victory against Rancho.

The Bulldogs’ defense did the rest in limiting Rancho to about 70 total yards of offense, coach Matt Woods said.

“Defense played really good. We have to get our offense to start scoring a few points here and there,” he said.

Virgin Valley only led 7-0 at halftime, often seeing potential scoring drives stall because of miscues,” Woods said.

“We’d have three or four good plays in a row and then go back on penalties,” he said. “We can’t do that. We have to get better.”

Tight end Cutler Crandall had a touchdown reception and Hunter Otteson scored on a 10-yard run.
