Ryan Cherry, who has worked for Nevada Republicans in Washington, D.C., and Carson City, has been named chief of staff for Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo, officials said today.
Cherry spent six years working on rural issues for former U.S. Sen Dean Heller, R-Nev., and was the former chief of staff for Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison, Lombardo’s office said. He has spent the past six years working as a consultant on natural resources, mining and energy issues, the office said.
Cherry is replacing Ben Kieckhefer, who is stepping down next month. Cherry will start Jan. 17.
“Ryan’s experience inside and outside of government makes him an ideal fit as my next chief of staff,” Lombardo said in a statement.
