Clark County judicial court gets 2 new appointments

Gov. Joe Lombardo today announced two appointments to Clark County’s Eighth Judicial Court, filling one with a deputy district attorney and the other a former top legal officer who specializes in civil law.

Danielle Chio, who served as Chief Deputy District Attorney to Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson was appointed to fill a vacancy in Department 7 of the court. She joins longtime attorney Jacob Reynolds, former Chief Legal Officer for Scholer & Sons, LLC., who was appointed to the court’s 29th Department.

“Danielle is an experienced prosecutor and Jacob is an expert civil litigator, and I’m grateful for their willingness to serve our state,” Lombardo said in a release. “I’m confident that they will both use their experience and wisdom to serve their fellow Nevadans with the utmost fairness, honor and integrity.”

Chio, who also goes by “Pieper,” comes to the bench after serving more than 18 years with the DA’s office where she took cases in the homicide unit, gangs unit, special victims unit and in general litigation, according Lombardo’s office. She received a bachelors degree from Whittier College and graduated from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific.

Prior to his work at Scholer & Sons, Reynolds was partner and senior counsel at Hutchison & Steffen, PLLC, where he worked for more than 15 years. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from Brigham Young University.
