In celebration of Lunar New Year, Bellagios Conservatory & Botanical Gardens unveiled its breathtaking new display, Year of the Rabbit. Through March 4, guests will be immersed in a space reflecting peace and tranquility, where Asian culture is celebrated and honored in thoughtful fashion. January 10, 2023.

Many Las Vegas casinos, resorts, venues and destinations are celebrating Lunar New Year with special programming, traditional lion dances and more family-friendly activities. Here’s a selection of some of the festivities happening this week in honor of the Year of the Rabbit.

The Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is presenting its annual Lunar New Year display through March 4 with a celebration of Asian culture including an homage to the Black Water Rabbit, a symbol of deep wisdom and connection to earth. The installation also features a 17-foot statue of Caishen, the benevolent god of wealth, and a money tree made of 88 gold I-Ching coins. For more information, visit bellagio.mgmresorts.com.

Downtown Summerlin is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with festive décor throughout its common areas on display January 23-27. The retail and lifestyle center is also hosting a red envelope giveaway through the Summerlin app during that same time period, granting guests the opportunity to receive a complimentary red envelope filled with chocolate coins and surprise gift cards while supplies last. The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian will host the official Chinese New Year in the Desert ribbon cutting ceremony on January 26 at noon, welcoming local officials and dignitaries including Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony, former U.S. Ambassador Sichan Siv, celebrity chef Martin Yan and others. The Venetian has also transformed its waterfall atrium and gardens for Lunar New Year with a colossal rabbit installation surrounded by lush greenery and gold coins.

The Chinese New Year in the Desert celebration continues with a series of special ticketed events leading up to the annual Spring Festival Parade at the Fremont East Entertainment District on January 28 at 11 a.m. Limited bleacher seating will be provided by the City of Las Vegas at 8th and Fremont streets, and the free parade afterparty will take place at Downtown Container Park from noon until 3:30 p.m. For more information, visit cnyinthedesert.com.

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Summerlin will commemorate the Year of the Rabbit with a celebratory lion dance on the casino floor on January 26 at 6 p.m. The event will begin at Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill and roam the entire casino floor. For more info, visit redrockresort.com.

M Resort Spa Casino will ring in the new year with traditional dances and decorations, with a Chinese lion and dragon dance performance set for January 28 at 6 p.m. The show will feature a 63-foot dragon as well as three adult lion and three baby lion props operated by dancers from the Lohan School of Shaolin. Boyd Gaming is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with festive lion’s dance parades through the casinos at the Orleans on January 25 at 5 p.m., and the Gold Coast on January 25 at 7 p.m. Gold Coast restaurants Ping Pang Pong and Noodle Exchange will also be serving celebratory menu items through February 5.
