Vegas Golden Knights center Chandler Stephenson (20) warms up before an NHL hockey game against the Buffalo Sabres at T-Mobile Arena Monday, Dec. 19, 2022.

Chandler Stephenson is an All-Star.

The Golden Knights center will be the team's second player to take part in the NHL's All-Star Game on Saturday in Sunrise, Florida, the league announced today.

Stephenson is replacing Seattle Kraken rookie Matty Beniers, who was injured Wednesday after a hit from Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers.

The 28-year-old Stephenson, participating in his first All-Star Game, will join Vegas goaltender Logan Thompson and coach Bruce Cassidy on the Pacific Division roster.

Prior to the turn of the calendar year, Stephenson was playing at an All-Star level with 39 points in 39 games. Since the new year, Stephenson has just five points in his last 12 games.

Stephenson's 44 points through 51 games still has him on pace to surpass last season's career-high of 64 points in 79 games.

While center Jack Eichel was out for nearly all of December with a lower-body injury, Stephenson took over the scoring reins. His 20 points in December were fourth most in the NHL, twice registering four-point games, which is a career-high.

Stephenson has 165 points in 222 games with the Golden Knights since he was acquired in a trade with the Washington Capitals in December 2019.
