Updated Saturday, July 1, 2023 | 1:54 p.m.

Eighteen people, including 10 children, are displaced after a fire at their apartment complex Friday night.

Clark County Fire Department responded at 9:29 p.m. to a report of a light fixture on fire in an apartment at 4555 Las Vegas Blvd. North.  Fire crews determined the fire was within the wall and called a second alarm for additional resources.

It was determined the fire had not traveled far within the wall. The fire was knocked down within about 20 minutes of the first call, according to a press release.

Clark County, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and North Las Vegas Fire Department responded to the scene.

Eight adults, 10 children and two dogs were assisted by the American Red Cross for shelter needs. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire and the dollar loss has not been determined, the release says.
