Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with various Las Vegas festivities

Lots of live music sets the stage for the Fremont Street Experience’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

Are you ready to go Irish? St. Patrick’s Day lands on a Friday this year so you can be sure that the annual parties and celebrations scattered around the Las Vegas valley will continue all through the weekend. Here are some of the major events and top recommendations around town.

The Fremont Street Experience will provide all the necessary holiday cheer with four days of its annual ShamRock Bash March 16-19. The weekend will be loaded with free, live entertainment from Irish bands including The Arcana Kings, Whiskey Galore, Finnegan’s Wake, Darby O’Gill and The Little People and more, with Celtic dancers and other entertainment wrapped into the fun, along with drink specials at many casino bars along the five-block entertainment district. Celtic Feis is back on the Strip at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino on March 17 from 10 a.m. until midnight, featuring Celtic-inspired music and DJs on the Brooklyn Bridge, classic food offerings from Nine Fine Irishmen and other entertainment options. Bands scheduled to perform include Celtic Chaos, the Las Vegas Emerald Society Pipe Band, Sin E Ri Ra, Celtic Rockers and the Sticky Wicket Duo. The District at Green Valley Ranch is partnering with Q100.5 FM for a St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl on March 17 from 5 until 9 p.m. Food and drink specials will be available at various venues including Ritchie McNeely’s, PKWY Tavern and Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ, and attendees can enter to win gift cards and other prizes. Downtown Container Park will host its fourth annual Sham-Rock the Park beer bash and St. Patrick’s Day celebration on March 17 from 6 until 9 p.m. Admission is $40 including a beer tasting and entertainment from the Sin City Devils. Area15 will host the Lepra-Con Pub Crawl on March 17 from 7 p.m. until midnight including its venues Liftoff Bar & Ride, Oddwood bar, The Beat by Todd English, The Wall and Sanctuary. Admission is $40 per person and more information can be found at area15.com.
