AJ Stowers had a pair of touchdown passes today for the Desert Pines High football team against St. Louis of Hawaii in the 9th Island Classic at Liberty, but the Jaguars couldn’t hold the lead in a 35-30 defeat.
Stowers connected with Greg Burrell and Massiah Mingo on scoring strikes, and Trey Jackson had an interception return for a touchdown to give Desert Pines an early 21-7 lead.
Desert Pines led 24-21 at halftime on a field goal from Adrian Carnero.
But as the inclement weather hit in the second half, offense was at a premium for both teams.
Desert Pines dropped to 1-1 on the season.
