Flash flooding was reported throughout the Las Vegas Valley for a second straight day Saturday and left a Regional Transportation Commission bus inoperable in nearly a foot of standing water.

The bus was disabled near the intersection of East Lake Mead Boulevard and Mt. Hood Street where about 10 inches of standing water was observed, Jeff Hahn of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported to the National Weather Service at about 3 p.m.

Clark County Fire Department was on the scene to help passengers and the driver off the bus, Hahn told the weather service. He added that standing water was also reported at South Pecos Road and East Patrick Lane with water reaching the curb on Pecos.

Swift water rescue operations were on site at East Sahara Avenue and South Walnut Road, East Flamingo Road and Boulder Highway, East Harmon Avenue and South Lamb Boulevard and McLeod Drive and East Desert Inn Road, reported Carolyn Levering, City of Las Vegas emergency management officer.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue found the body of a possible drowning victim entangled in debris in northwest Las Vegas early Saturday morning, officials said in a statement.

The weather is also impacting travel on Interstate-15, where the southbound lane is "impassable" near Jean and Primm, according to the weather service.

A flash flood warning is in place until 5 p.m. for west-central and central Clark County, according to the weather service. Northeastern Clark County is under a flash flood warning until 8 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning for north-central Clark County expired at 3:30 p.m., but NWS meteorologist Trevor Boucher said shortly after the warning that a second round of storms would be hitting the valley within the hour. He said the storm is predicted to impact much of the same areas of the south and east sides of the valley as in the first round.

Heavy rain was reported in southwest portions of the valley earlier in the say, Boucher said. He noted reports of flooding near West Warm Springs Road and South Buffalo Drive.

Flooding was also at the intersections of Flamingo Road and Rainbow Boulevard, East Charleston Boulevard and East Fremont Street and East Charleston Boulevard and South Las Vegas Boulevard, Guy Demarco, City of Las Vegas emergency management specialist, reported to the weather service at about 2:20 p.m.

Severe storms on Friday hammered the region, causing flash flooding.
