Moapa Valley blanks Durango in season opener

Ryker Katich had an interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter tonight for the Moapa Valley football team in a 27-0 victory against visiting Durango.
Talon Schraft tossed a touchdown pass to Gavyn Frederick. Schraft and Caden Rawson had rushing touchdowns.
Moapa Valley’s offense struggled in the second half with four lost fumbles — all on its own side of the field.
“Loved our defense,” coach Brent Lewis said. “I thought our defense was pretty solid. But we have a lot of room for improvement offensively.”
