Bonanza football rides running back to opening night win

The Bonanza football team had a simple game plan tonight against Valley: Give the ball to running back Jaylin Davis.
“We ran the ball about 95% of the time and he had a bunch of carries,” Bengals coach Keith Jones said.
The strategy worked.
Davis had two touchdowns and more than 100 rushing yards, and the Bengals won their season opener, 14-8. It was the first victory in Week 1 since 2019, Jones said.
“That’s huge for them,” Jones said. “We still have some things to learn about playing a complete game, but this is an excellent start. It’s huge to say we got our first win.”
Alex Tuimaualuga “was a monster on defense,” Jones said. “He was just ridiculous. All over the field.”
Gavin Forgue sealed the win for Bonanza with a late interception.
