Donovan Glover was all over the field tonight for the Basic football team, catching a touchdown pass from Jayveon Rose and recording one of the Wolves’ three interceptions in a 17-7 win over visiting Las Vegas.
The defense was the difference for Basic, including two sacks and a few tackles for a loss from lineman Max Ramos. Terrion Foster and Hunter McGory had interceptions.
Basic improved to 1-1 on the season.
“Our defense played better,” Basic coach Jeff Cahill said. “We got more pressure on the quarterback than we did last week.”
Louden Cahill, a sophomore wide receiver and Cahill’s son, also had a receiving touchdown.
Basic returns to action Sept. 6 in the Henderson Bowl rivalry game with Green Valley.
