Tyrell Craven rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries tonight for the Shadow Ridge football team in a 28-20 win over visiting Spanish Springs of Reno.

The Mustangs amassed 440 rushing yards in their season opener, with touchdown runs from Ray Carmel and Trevin Young.

Coach Travis Foster said his team fell victim to some first-game mistakes, but “it’s better to win those games than lose.”

“We need to clean some stuff up,” he added.

Shadow Ridge also passed for a touchdown, a nifty 33-yard scoring strike from Ula Cox to Joe Darr.

Colton Richter shined defensively with a pair of sacks.
