Bishop Gorman football finishes strong in Florida win

The Bishop Gorman football team scored 19 unanswered points to close the game today at St. Thomas Aquinas of Florida in rallying for a 29-21 victory in an ESPN televised game.
Gorman, the nation’s second-ranked team by Max Preps, trailed 21-10 in the second half before its defense took over, including a pair of fourth quarter interceptions to seal the win.
Gorman took its first lead with 6:48 to play on a 3-yard touchdown run by sophomore Terrance Grant.
Melvin Spicer had touchdown passes to Derek Meadows and Kaina Watson, helping the Gaels extend their winning streak to 27 games.
Up next? The last team to beat them — Mater Dei of California in a highly anticipated contest with national championship implications.
Mater Dei beat Gorman in August 2022 in Las Vegas. The return game is Sept. 6 in southern California.
