Thaddeus Thatcher passed for five touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Arbor View High football team in a 49-7 win Friday night over visiting Legacy in the Battle of the Bulls rivalry game.
The Aggies (2-0) have scored 94 points in the initial two games of the season, including Thatcher passing for nearly 600 yards Aug. 24 in a win over Lincoln of San Diego, Calif.
Coach Marlon Barnett praised his team, but said there are plenty of things they need to tighten moving forward. They had a few too many penalties for the coach’s liking — which could have been the product of the rivalry game.
“We have to take care of those penalties,” Barnett said. “The game could have gone downhill (because of the penalties), but the kids fought back.”
Running back Sean Moore had a rushing and receiving touchdown, wide receiver Jayden Williams had three touchdown receptions, and Kai Cypher also caught a scoring strike.
The sophomore Thatcher, who has scholarship offers from the likes of Utah and UNLV, had about 400 passing yards — meaning he’s close to eclipsing 1,000 yards in just two weeks.
