A new three-day indie rock festival is coming to Downtown Las Vegas. Best Friends Forever is slated for Oct. 11-13 at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, featuring more than three dozen diverse acts, leading off with Bright Eyes, Sunny Day Real Estate, Cap’n Jazz, The Jesus Lizard, Unwound, The Dismemberment Plan, Built To Spill, The Get Up Kids, Pinback and The Murder City Devils. Tickets for the all-ages event go on sale Thursday at bestfriendsforeverfest.com.

Babyface will be the first resident artist at the Pearl Concert Theater since the Palms reopened after the pandemic. The superstary R&B and pop recording artist, songwriter and producer will perform at the Pearl May 25-26, Aug. 31-Septe.1 and November 8-9, with tickets on sale March 1 at ticketmaster.com.

In more Vegas entertainment event announcements this week: comedian Preacher Lawson visits Treasure Island Theatre on March 22; pop favorites Taylor Dayne and Tiffany will perform at M Pavilion at the M Resort on April 20; rock group Bring Me the Horizon takes the stage at BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau on April 26; comic Andrew Schulz plays BleauLive Theater on May 25; alt-metal outfit From Ashes to New plays the House of Blues on June 7; comedian Jimmy Failla returns to the Grand Events Center at Green Valley Ranch Resort on July 5; Jim Gaffigan returns to Encore Theater for performances on Sept. 4-7; and Latin pop megastar Emmanuel will perform at the Venetian Theater on Sept. 14-15.

As reported in Las Vegas Weekly earlier this week, the Smith Center announced its 2024-2025 Broadway Las Vegas Series on Monday a ten-show lineup that may be the biggest series yet. It begins in July inside Reynolds Hall with movie-based musical comedy “Mrs. Doubtfire,” then continues with “Company,” “The Cher Show,” “Back to the Future: The Musical” and “Shrek The Musical” to close out the year. In February, it picks up again with Tony Award-winning Best Musical “Kimberly Akimbo” and wraps up with “The Wiz,” “Hamilton,” “Parade” and “& Juliet.” Season ticket holders may renew now and other interested showgoers can also get more info at thesmithcenter.com/broadway.

Congregation Ner Tamid’s “50 Years of Cantors” concert on March 2 at 7 p.m. is dedicated to Israel, with donations going toward CNT’s music programs. Performers include Jessica Hutchings, Becky Mann, Bella Feldman and Billy Tiep at the Henderson temple. Tickets are available at lvnertamid.org.
