U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) attends the grand opening of the Nevada Veterans Business Outreach Center Monday, Nov. 20, 2023.

Nevada U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen raised about $3.2 million from October through December and holds more than $10.6 million in cash, according to her campaign, a record figure for an incumbent senator from Nevada at this point in the election cycle.

More than 19,000 donors — about half of Rosen’s total donor amount — were first-time contributors to the senator and made up about half the value of Rosen’s fourth quarter donations, according to a release Monday from her campaign. The average donation was $27.

The news comes the same day as retired Army Capt. Sam Brown, a Republican running to unseat Rosen, announced roughly $1.9 million in Q4 fundraising. Brown has never held an elected office but has earned the backing of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and has raised $3 million to date.

Brown is the only person in the seven-person GOP primary field to publicly report their Q4 fundraising totals. The Federal Election Commission has given candidates until Jan. 31 to report Q4 donations.

Many analysts believe Rosen is among a group of vulnerable Senate Democrats in danger of losing reelection, but the Cook Political Report rates the race “Lean Democrat.” In 2022, U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto narrowly defeated Republican challenger Adam Laxalt, and proved a key win that allowed Democrats to retain control of Congress’ upper chamber.
