President Joe Biden speaks during a campaign event at Pearson Community Center in North Las Vegas Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024.

Law enforcement will be highly visible throughout Las Vegas over the next three days for President Joe Biden’s planned visit, Metro Police said today.

Metro will work with federal partners to provide extra security at each of the locations Biden intends to visit. Officers will have an increased presence throughout the valley, and motorists should be prepared for road closures, police said.

Biden is expected to arrive in Las Vegas later today, provide remarks Tuesday at the NAACP National Convention, and then give an address at the UnidosUS Annual Conference on Wednesday, before leaving Vegas that day.

The Vegas stops are Biden’s return to the campaign trail since Saturday’s attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Biden postponed a planned visit to Austin, Texas, earlier today because of the attempt on Trump’s life, which left one rally attendee, along with the shooter, dead.

Metro asks that people report any suspicious local activity to the Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center at (702) 828-7777.
