Las Vegas police: Man standing in road hit by vehicle, critically injured

A man was in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle while standing in a road early today, according to Metro Police.

The incident occurred about 3:20 a.m. on South Nellis Boulevard north of Boulder Highway, police said.

A car swerved to avoid hitting the man, who was then struck by another vehicle, police said. The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the man remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
