Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray (12) takes the ball upcourt against the New York Liberty during Game 1 in a WNBA basketball final playoff series at Michelob Ultra Arena in Mandalay Bay Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023.

After suffering a left foot injury in the 2023 WNBA Finals, Las Vegas Aces star guard Chelsea Gray is expected to make her return against the Seattle Storm on Wednesday.

“We’re going to see how that goes and evaluate and make an in-game call then,” Aces coach Becky Hammon said at Tuesday's team practice. “We kind of have a general idea of what we’re doing with her, but it can change one way or another depending on how it goes.”

Last season, Gray averaged 15.3 points, 7.3 assists and four rebounds in 40 games. She's also been one of the Aces’ veteran leaders over the years and a joyful presence according to her teammates.

Despite being injured, Gray was named to Team USA's Olympic Team alongside teammates A'ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young.

Gray has not played a game this season, and her presence has been missed. Las Vegas has lost four of their last five games, tying its season loss total from last season.

The Aces tip off against the Storm on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Michelob Ultra Arena. The game will be broadcast on NBA TV and Silver State Sports & Entertainment Network (Channel 125).
