North Las Vegas Police: Fleeing SUV crashes, sending 5 people to hospitals

A stolen SUV collided with two other vehicles today as it fled from police, sending five people to hospitals with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to North Las Vegas Police.

Officers spotted the SUV on Tonopah Avenue and attempted to pull it over when it drove off and began driving recklessly, police said.

They briefly followed the SUV before breaking off the pursuit, police said The SUV continued down Tonopah and crashed into two other vehicles at the intersection with Pecos Road, police said.

Three people in the stolen car were taken to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Two people in the other vehicles involved in the crash were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, police said.

Roads in the area were closed for the crash investigation, police said.
