Las Vegas Aces guard Dyaisha Fair (2) is shown during the second half of an WNBA basketball game against the Indiana Fever at Michelob Ultra Arena in Mandalay Bay Saturday, May 25, 2024.

It has been an eventful couple of days for former Syracuse women’s basketball star Dyaisha Fair.

On Saturday night, Fair made her WNBA debut.

On Sunday afternoon, she was released by the Aces.

The Aces posted a graphic on social media that read “Thank you Dyaisha,” along with a short announcement.

Fair was selected by the Aces in the second round (No. 16 overall) of last month’s WNBA Draft. Because there are only 12 teams and 12 spots on each team, it was never a guarantee Fair would join the roster.

She did make the roster, though she didn’t play in the first three regular-season games. On Saturday, she played the final four minutes and had two assists against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

The Aces, the two-time defending champs, are 3-1 this season. They'll likely look for a veteran to fill the vacant roster spot.

Fair ranks third on the all-time scoring list in NCAA women’s college basketball history. She scored (3,403 points for Syracuse and the University at Buffalo).
