A'ja Wilson is having a season to remember, and her performance against the Indiana Fever on Wednesday cemented her name in the WNBA record books.

She scored her 940th point this season, placing her as the WNBA all-time single-season point leader. Wilson's 27 points guided the Las Vegas Aces to an 86-75 win over the Indiana Fever.

"It feels great because now people stop talking about it," Wilson said. " I feel like it was just like lingering and lingering, so I'm glad that we got it done. It's been a lot of fun. My teammates gave me a great, cold water shower after the game."

Wilson accomplished the feat in 35 games, surpassing the Seattle Storm's Jewell Loyd, who set the scoring record last season with 939 points in 38 games in 2023. Wilson complimented her scoring performance with 12 rebounds for her 22nd double-double of the season.

She credits the feat to her teammates and got emotional expressing how grateful she is for them.

"My teammates are the heartbeat and get me going," Wilson said. "The way they show up to work every single day, just ready to play, ready to lock in. We lock in each other every single day, and that's what you see on the court."

The Aces were down early but recovered off a strong showing from their bench. Tiffany Hayes finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds, and Alysha Clark had 14 points and 4 rebounds. Chelsea Gray also broke double-scoring figures with 11 points.

"We have a bench full of professionals that are ready every single day, that put the work in and that are all stars," Clark said. "Anybody from our bench have started, can go start anywhere else in this league, and are choosing to come off the bench to be the supporting cast for our starters."

Las Vegas' defense forced the Fever to turn the ball over 14 times, seeing the Aces' offense convert for 13 points. They also recorded 6 team blocks, 3 from Wilson.

Aliyah Boston fouled out of the game, but finished with 10 rebounds and 6 points as the Aces biggest threat in the paint. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever's offense effort with 24 points and shot nearly 50% from the floor. Rookie sensation Caitlin Clark had 16 points and 6 assists, shooting 1-of-10 from 3-point range.

"There are definitely some things we can clean up offensively, but defensively, that's a hell of a job," Aces coach Becky Hammon said. "I thought Jackie (Young) was great on Caitlin (Clark) tonight, just making her life tough."

The Aces improve to 23-13 on the year, now two games ahead of the Seattle Storm for the No. 4 seed in the playoffs. Las Vegas face the Fever again on Friday at 4:30 p.m. PST in Indianapolis.
