Durango football tops Centennial to continue winning ways

The Durango High football team scored four touchdowns on defense and special teams Friday night in a 32-25 victory against Centennial.
Tristan Sontag (86 yards) and Benjamin Solomon (24 yards) had the interception returns for a score, while Mark Mefy blocked a field goal attempt that Jaden Carter returned for a touchdown, and Nysear Smith tallied on a fumble return.
After losing in the initial two weeks of the season, Durango has won three consecutive games for an impressive 3-2 record.
“These guys are bought in,” coach Robert Cutts said. “I couldn’t be more proud.”
The lone offensive score came on a Treyvion Mitchell 10-yard touchdown reception.
