Jeff Buckley's former home may be rentable

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – A modest cottage in Memphis, Tennessee, that was the last place where singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley lived is being renovated with the hope of turning it into a rental place or selling it. The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports real estate agent David Lorrison and developer Eric Goode hope to have the 900-square-foot house ready by Thanksgiving. Goode Development bought the house in March for just under $144,000 after it was unoccupied for a year. Lorrison says Buckley fans drive for miles to visit the house. Right now, the only furniture in it is a church pew, but restoring it to the way Buckley had it won't take much. According to Buckley’s friends, he had a mattress, a borrowed couch, a phone and an answering machine.
