NATIONAL SUMMARY

Relentless downpours and severe weather will continue across

parts of the Midwest today. Thunderstorms stretching from

Nebraska to Ohio will be capable of producing flash flooding

and localized damaging wind gusts. Gusty thunderstorms are

forecast to spark in parts of the Plains and Rockies from

Kansas and Colorado to North Dakota and Montana. Storms will

dot the rest of the Rockies during the afternoon. From Texas

to Florida, thunderstorm activity will be sparse with

unseasonably hot and humid air. Spotty thunderstorms will

extend along much of the Eastern Seaboard. Dry weather will

occur from Washington to California with abundant sunshine

and temperatures near to just below the historical average.

Smoke will remain thick in the Pacific Northwest from area

wildfires.
