Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend
Fri, Jun 3, 2011 (11:04 a.m.)
The annual tease festival Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend took over The Orleans Hotel and Casino starting Thursday, June 2 with an opening show called the Movers, Shakers and Innovators Showcase. The international group of performers brought all their creativity to the stage, with acts ranging from a stripping Edward Scissorhands, a stripping Joker, a stripping pilgrim and a pair of stripping policewomen. One act slowing unraveled her sweater dress to Weezer’s “The Sweater Song” and another slowly peeled off a prison jumpsuit with her hands chained. Three men performed in the showcase, their show ranging from artistic to campy. At the end of one performer’s Las Vegas themed act, she was wearing nothing but playing card tassels and a dollar bill over her private parts, all while dancing en pointe in toe shoes.
