Downtown Community Coalition Cleanup

The Downtown Community Coalition holds a neighborhood cleanup near Fremont Street and 21st Street Tuesday, June 17, 2014. An estimated 8 tons of garbage was collected during the event, said Metro Police Officer Aden Ocampo-Gomez. A bobcat from the city’s rapid response unit picked up the larger items such as an abandoned couch and discarded mattresses, he said. Agencies involved were: Metro Police Department, Casa De Luz church, The Center, Ninth Island Aunties, Toys-For-Smiles, The Shade Tree, LVMP Volunteers, Downtown Rangers, the City of Las Vegas, Anderson Dairy, Downtown Dynamos and the Verve church.
