Charlotte Hill Through The Years

Charlotte Hill, former President of the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Sun Summer Camp Fund died on April 26, 2018. Hill proposed the Summer Camp Fund in the late 1960’s when she was a member of the Economic Opportunity Board. Hill asked the EOB to apply for a grant to fund a summer camping program for economically disadvantaged youth. After these funds were no longer available through the Office of Economic Opportunity, Hill approached Las Vegas Sun founder, Hank Greenspun. Since that first year in 1970, their efforts resulted in a successful program that has sent thousands of children to summer camp.
