A memorial service is held for former Metro Police Capt. Larry Burns Jr. at the Smith Center Thursday, July 18, 2019. Burns, who ran unsuccessfully for Clark County sheriff in 2014, died unexpectedly in his sleep as the result of a medical condition. He was 61.
