Pedestrian hit, killed while crossing northeast valley road

A pedestrian was hit by an SUV and killed Thursday night while crossing Lamb Boulevard in the northeast valley, according to Metro Police.

The incident happened about 10:20 p.m. at Lamb and Tonopah Avenue, police said.

The victim, a 35-year-old Las Vegas woman, was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said. Her name was not released, pending notification of her family.

Neither the driver of the SUV, a 29-year-old North Las Vegas woman, nor a passenger were injured, police said.

The driver, who remained on the scene, was not impaired, and the incident remains under investigation, police said.

The death marked the 48th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
