A 15-year-old Las Vegas girl died after she was hit by an SUV Sunday night as she was running across a road with a group of people, according to Metro Police.
The incident happened about 9:20 p.m. on Charleston Boulevard near Sky Vista Drive.
A compact SUV was headed west on Charleston when two adults and two juveniles started to run across the street, police said.
The vehicle struck the girl, who was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said. The Clark County Coroner's Office notified investigators today that the girl died, police said.
The driver, a 39-year-old Las Vegas man, remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
