A suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a man Monday at a Clark County park west of the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.

Hugo Gonzalez, 27, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a count of open murder, police said.

Officers responded about 8:50 p.m. Monday to a report of a fight at Charlie Frias Park in the 4800 block of South Decatur Boulevard, police said. They found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

The man was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The victim was “being confrontational” with several people at the park and got into a fight with another man when he was shot, police said. The suspect left before officers arrived, police said.

Police did not say how they linked Gonzalez to the shooting.
