Updated Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 | 1:44 p.m.

Homicide detectives were probing a deadly stabbing reported this morning in a Summerlin home, according to Metro Police.

After 9 a.m., officers responded to the 10000 block of Kenton Place, a neighborhood near Summerlin Hospital Medical Center. At a press briefing, Metro homicide Lt. David Valenta said officers are still seeking the suspect, only described as a male wearing dark colored clothing.

Valenta said the victim was a 48-year-old male living in the home and preliminary evidence indicates an altercation at the residence led to the stabbing. Officers pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Two other residents were inside the house at the time of the stabbing. It is unknown at this time if the suspect knew the victim or other residents in the house, Valenta said. The suspect was last seen, possibly, walking on Banburry Cross Drive, Valenta said.

The investigation was ongoing, police said. Additional information about the victim was not released.
