A Las Vegas woman was killed and two other people injured in a crash early today on the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.
The crash happened about 1:35 a.m. near Resorts World Las Vegas, police said.
A car was stopped facing south in a left turn lane when it made an abrupt right turn to enter Resorts World, police said. The car entered the path of a crossover SUV headed south at a “high rate of speed,” police said. The front of the SUV collided with the right side of the car, police said.
The driver of the car, a 50-year-old Las Vegas woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the SUV, a 38-year-old Las Vegas woman, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to University Medical Center, along with a passenger, who suffered minor injuries, police said.
The driver of the SUV displayed signs of impairment and was arrested on “DUI-related” counts, police said. She was later booked at the Clark County Detention Center, police said.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
