Henderson police investigating officer involved shooting on Christmas

Suspect, 20, in stable condition; faces multiple charges

A man suspected in a series of auto burglaries on Christmas morning was shot by Henderson Police and is in stable condition at a local hospital, the department announced this afternoon in a news release.

Officers were called to a neighborhood near Tiger Lily Way and Viewmont Drive to locate two suspects involved in auto burglaries earlier in the morning, police said in the release. The suspects — 20-year-old Ozzie Seeman and a 15-year-old male juvenile — fled the scene and a brief foot pursuit ensued, police said.

Seeman produced a handgun “resulting in the officer discharging his handgun and striking” the suspect, police said. The juvenile continued to run and was taken into custody without incident a short distance away.

Seeman, who is in custody at the hospital, faces multiple burglary and gun possession charges, police said. The juvenile faces burglary charges.

It was the fourth officer involved shooting of 2022 for Henderson Police.
